Time is on my side

I have so much time it's not even funny! I was chatting with CSSM today. They got our fed CPS background checks, still don't have OH and now they say not CA either. Also, haven't gotten psych eval yet...not sure what's up with that. Anyway, emailed them a copy of the psych eval I have and it was submitted to the director for review. Supposedly we can move on without the state specific CPS background checks so long as they have been requested which, they have.

Also, chatted with the local SW, she informed me she is very busy...and that after our visits are complete it takes her about a month to do all her paperwork! Frick! That's a long time. So, if we meet in March which, is now not looking so hopeful it could be another month after that before we're submitted to the state to be approved.

I need a hobby that doesn't involve my house! Any ideas?

Otherwise things are just peachy. Work and school are keeping us busy. Weather has been pleasant until this moment! It's snowing buckets right now. It's actually a wet-rain-snow-mix...it will be nice and muddy now.

Psych Evals

It was just two weeks ago we sat for our tests. Today we have our evaluation!!! It is laugh out loud funny. Not because it's bad but because it is so dead on! Basically we are a perfect balance.

and I quote....

"The test results indicated that Ms. Crotzer will probably function as the social gatekeeper in the family, and that Mr. Crotzer will be content with that. Ms. Crotzer appears to have a small rebellious streak that can be both a plus and a minus as a parent. It will move her to let her children develop their unique personalities; but it may also trap her at times into letting them get away with more than they should. Mr. Crotzer appears to have a calm, cerebral approach to life that will help him guide his children toward logical, productive decisions; but he may have to improve his skills at ready emotional cues.

Overall, both the interview and test data indicate that Mr. and Ms. Crotzer will be highly competent, caring and successful parents."

I called and spoke with CSSM today to let them know it's on the way to them. We are still waiting on DH's Ohio motor vehicle report and our federal fingerprint background checks. I was told there is hope to have them all in by the end of next week. After all the loose ends are tied the director will review our COMPLETE file determine if we're good to go for homestudy. I guess there's a chance we could be told we are done...

Now we're shooting for the end of March to have our homestudy scheduled. If it goes longer than that I may just get more rebellious!

Nothing

I have nothing to write about so here is a cute picture of my DH a long time ago....

Thursday Already?

I'm looking forward to my three day weekend, this year is flying by.

Spoke with CSSM yesterday, we won't be able to even start scheduling our home study until all our paperwork is in. They are waiting for some of our background checks - thanks DH for living in so many states!! We are also waiting for the report back from the psychologist - I will be calling him today.

Not much else to report.

Almost Home Study Time

we hope. Our large envelope with our autobiographies and numerous other forms and our home study fee is in the mail today! We were lucky enough (never thought I would utter those words before these next ones) to receive additional paperwork to complete in the mail on Friday. Naturally we jumped right on it and got it done Friday night. So, we are also mailing in our SAFE Questionnaire I, which we've learned is the Department of Health and Human Services (DPHHS) requirement.

Now what am I going to do with my free time?

Psycho -

at least we hope we're not. DH and I had our psychological evaluations yesterday. 1500 questions, 6 hours and $850 later we will not know anything more about ourselves for a couple more weeks! Dr. Paul Moomaw is a very sweet man who has an adopted son. How cool is that? We are glad we chose to work with him.

The questions were similar to - Do you want to kill yourself? Do you feel like you are being robbed? Do you feel like people are stealing your thoughts? To you fix door latches? On and on and on. The questions repeated themselves over and over in a different format. It was intense that's for sure. We also had a 12 questions essay format test to do at home, those questions were more specific to parenting techniques. It took us 2-3 hours to complete it!

We're done so long as the results don't come back showing some sort of bazaar personality issues in one or both of us.

What's left you ask?
*We are still working on our autobiographies, Comfort Zone and Range of Acceptance questionnaires. We hope to have them in the mail by Monday along with our home study fee. Our finger prints went out in the mail on Wednesday to them.
*CSSM will then send us the SAFE Questionnaire #1 (no idea what that is) for us each to complete.
*SW will schedule home study
*Will have home study meetings which I'm sure will involve more paperwork
*SW will write profile
*Will submit our Dear Expectant Parent(s) letter (We've already written it - a bit ahead of schedule on that). If our draft is accepted by our SW we will sent 40 copies to CSSM.
*Will do 5 photo albums, draft will have to be approved by SW
*Will (hopefully) receive approval letter by May
*Then wait..........................

Anyone out there know how to embed a slide show to a blog? I know how to put the link but I would love to embed one.

Our House

For those who have never been to the Crotzer home this will be an amazing photo journey for you! Just kidding, I was bored this weekend so decided to take some pics of the house.

For those who have been there you'll note a little change to one wall in our living room - I've sort of wallpapered it. I fell in love with the wallpaper and just had to do something with it, also I hated the wall before. I realize it's not for everyone but I'm diggn' it and if you know me, it will be different in a few months anyway.

Also please not the totally rockn' Amish made eight arm wall mounted drying rack in the laundry area. Leave it to the Amish to come up with such a clever way to dry clothing without taking up and floor space. The rack collapses and become flush with the wall! I just love it! I can't believe I'm so excited about a drying rack...It must be because I will be 30 in 4 months!

I tried to embed this stupid slide show but I can't figure it out!

Please have pitty

on our future child/ren. I have resisted purchasing any baby related items. Except....
I've realized I'm drawn to the the baby clothing that may be better suited for old men.
