Yard Sale...a success!

We successfully got rid of all our junk - what we didn't sell we took to Goodwill. The weather was lovely as was the company and we even had a few entertaining customers.

This has been a crazy busy week...haven't had much time to post. DH and I did enjoy an evening on the patio including dinner on the sweet new (to us) furniture. DH felt it was "fancy and grown-up" - not sure what he meant by that but it was cute nonetheless.

I have a little work to do around the place this weekend in additional to the garage sale, my hope is to get it all done this weekend so I can do nothing but enjoy my long 4th of July holiday weekend. We are supposed to have lovely weather.

Just rambling

We've had some seriously wet and gray weather which has been great for our yard but has not offered many opportunities to use newly painted patio furniture. The weather has seemed to turn for the better and we're forecasted some nice sunshine this weekend.
I will be spending Saturday in my garage for my garage sale I'm having. It's amazing how much one or two collects over a period of 4 years and even more amazing how quickly one can turn a garage into a total mess...hopefully will have it all organized for the sale by Thursday evening.
If you're out and about in my town you should stop by and buy some of my junk.

CSSM Update

Spoke with the director today just to get a pulse check. They have had a few placements, our profile has been viewed but not selected. The reasons I was given for not being chosen are out of our control...waiting the longest...have children...etc
DH and I are the only couple without pre-existing children - the director still feels this is an advantage for us even though recent history shows us that birthmothers are selecting families with children.
We are incredibly thrilled for those families that have been selected. Our time will come when it's meant to be.
Just wanted to give you an update.

More cushion covers than actual cushions. I'm still working on them but am totally pleased with the bright color combination.

Another Project!

Thank goodness I love projects!!! Last weekend Mom and I did a little yard sale shopping in my neighborhood. We found this great wood patio set...it included what you see, cushions and an umbrella! It was a great deal and it needed work which was a plus for me!

The painting

The green (kind of a sea foam green-this picture doesn't do it justice) is the finished product. I'm very happy with the color, DH is a little skeptical...try explaining 'romantic' or 'whimsical' as a definition of the color to a man. Good Luck!

All in all it was a very involved project. I glued, clamped, tightened, puttied, sanded, primed (twice) and painted! Awwww!!

I was hoping the green I selected would contrast with the cushion but it really clashes...I have created another project for me - cushion covers!! No way will I sew a new umbrella so it will just have to clash.

We now have more furniture than patio but I feel we will get a lot of use out of it for years to come. Will post more pictures when our dog infested back yard becomes and eating oasis.

How I came to be...

June 7th = 30th anniversary of my birth

My plan to do as little as possible this past weekend was delightfully changed. Thursday night I got a feeling that something was up, I wasn't sure what it was but something was definitely going on behind my back. I started to figure it out Friday when my DH seemed to be as vague as possible with me and I wasn't able to get a hold of my 'rents all day!!! All phones were going straight to voicemail.

DH and I had plans to meet at Big Sky Brewery for a few Friday afternoon tastes...guess who was there?!?! My PARENTS!!! They were trying to be sneaky by hiding in the corner but they underestimated my keen since of observation. They left their luggage by the door!! By deduction I figured it out!!

We had a great weekend...lots of eating and drinking

62 hours and counting

Until I'm no longer in my 20's!! I can't believe 30 year of my life have passed...it's strange to think about and realize how fast it's flown by. I don't want to be 30 only because I am that much closer to the end. The number doesn't bother me at all just the ever so steady approaching end. Is that morbid?
